ASSOBOM VISITING THE 2 ORPHANAGES TO BENEFIT FROM OUR DONATIONS IN 2011
Dear friends and followers of ASSOBOM,
ASSOBOM visited last August 23,2011 the two orphanages to benefit from our donation in school furniture.
We first went to BETTER LIFE FOR ALL ORPHANAGE in Yaounde with refreshment while discussing with leaders on their needs for school.
After we when to the foundation LITTLE DAN AND SARAH in the outskirts of SOA and met with 3 french volunteers and a spanish who came for internship and assistance.They were the one sharing the refresment we brought.We had a discussion as well and hope something positive will get out of it.
The founder Marie Madeleine told us about their needs and hopefully soon we'll reach them with school furniture.
Keep us in prayers as we go ahead.

Let's send orphans to school in September 2011
Dear members, friends and followers of ASSOBOM,
ASSOBOM is now fundraising towards our donations to orphanages to help orphans go to school.Last year we could reach 109 orphans and this year we expect to do more God willing.Our deadline for fundraising is September 9,2011.The general meeting being on September 11.
What do we need?
- school furniture 'exercise books, pens, pencils, chalks etc)
- clothes and shoes
- food etc.
How do we proceed ?
- we fundraise in our church
- we have a funraising on facebook
- we encourage members to pay their fees
Special thanks go to brady (canadian) and wayne (Australian) for their support which will be used towards our donations.
What can you do to help?
-you can fundraise
-organise fundraisers
-make a commitment to donate monthly or make a one time donation
Last week, ASSOBOM donated a soccer ball to children in the quarter so they can enjoy their holiday and this way ASSOBOM can contribute towards keeping children busy during holidays.I've enclosed a picture.

En raison de la fête de la Pentecôte du 12 juin dernier, la deuxième Assemblée Générale (Because of the Feast of Pentecost June 12, the second General Assembly...)
de l'ASSOBOM a été renvoyée au dimanche, 19 juin 2011 à 15 Heures 30 minutes au domicile du Président Exécutif au 1 er Echangeur de NSAM à Yaoundé III.(... of ASSOBOM was referred to Sunday, 19 June 2011 at 3:30 pm at the home of Chief Executive at NSAM 1st exchanger in Yaounde III ). Y ont pris part les membres dont les noms figurent sur la liste en annexe.( It was attended by members whose names are listed in the appendix).
Ladite Assemblée Générale s'est articulée autour de six (06)points à savoir : la prière ; le mot du Président Fondateur ; l'intervention du Président Exécutif ; la réaction des membres actifs présents ; les contributions trimestrielles ; les divers.(The Said General Assembly was organized around six (06) points: prayer, the word of the founding President, intervention of the Executive Chairman , the reaction of the members present, and the quarterly contributions,different).
1. La prière (Prayer)
Présidée par Mme OKENE Thérèse, elle a tourné autour de l'aide demandée au St Esprit en la circonstance pour inspirer les membres et pour toucher les cœurs de ceux d'entre eux qui hésitent et ne comprennent pas encore que Dieu seul est au centre d'ASSOBOM en vue d'appuyer efficacement tous les déshérités, les sans espoirs et notamment les orphelins. (Chaired by Ms. Therese OKENE, she turned around with the Holy Spirit required under the circumstances to inspire members and to touch the hearts of those of them who are hesitant and do not yet understand that God alone is the center of ASSOBOM to effectively support all the poor, the hopeless, including orphans).
2. Le mot du Président Fondateur (Message from the President and Founder)
Le Président Fondateur a remercié tous les membres présents avant d'insister sur le fait (Founder President thanked all those present before stressing...)
que ASSOBOM n'est pas une œuvre humaine mais celle de Dieu.(...that ASSOBOM is not a human duty but God's). Cette mission est à sa deuxième année de vie active officielle.(... This mission is in its second year of official life).
En termes de bilan, il ya lieu de retenir : (In terms of balance, it is necessary to remember):
* l'accueil de Brady en décembre 2011 dont le rapport à Mercy LEAGUE International a magnifié le travail jusque-là abattu par ASSOBOM. (Brady's home visit to Cameroon last December 2011 with respect to Mercy League International has magnified the work so far done by ASSOBOM ).
* La perception des 500 dollars USA remis à ASSOBOM et conservés dans ses comptes du CEPI. (The perception of U.S. $ 500 ASSOBOM delivered to and stored in its accounts of CEPI Bank).
* Les contacts pris avec SU'ZETTE des USA, Marie D. de la slovaquie, Dr of Peace Grece, R. Kegha du Cameroun et Hedlund respectivement dans le cadre d'un don, d'un projet, d'une construction, d'un appui dans des domaines spécifiques et de la formation.( respectively, as part of a grant, project, structure, support in specific areas and training).
3. L'intervention du Président Exécutif (The intervention of the Chief Executive)
Son intervention a déploré : (His speech lamented):
* l'insuffisance de communication entre le Président Fondateur et le Président Exécutif (insufficient communication between the founder President and Executive Chairman)
* des carences des membres et du fonctionnement du Bureau Exécutif actuel. (deficiencies in the operation of Board members).
Le président fondateur en plus de la promesse faite d'améliorer la communication, a invité les uns et les autres à comprendre la cause ASSOBOM et à chercher des partenaires. (The founding president in addition to the promise made to improve communication, invited each other to understand the cause ASSOBOM and seek partners ). Il a fait savoir que les membres du bureau inactifs et absents seront remplacés à la fin de l'année 2011, qu'un registre sera offert par le Président Exécutif afin d'enregistrer toutes les opérations de l'association ainsi que les justificatifs des dépenses réalisées. (He said that inactive board members will be replaced at the end of 2011, a record will be provided by the Executive President to record all transactions of the association as well as proof of expenditure performed).
4. La réaction des membres actifs présents (The reaction of the members present)
(Pasteur)Jacky a mis l'accent sur les idées suivantes : (Pastor) Jacky focused on the following ideas:
* savoir qu'ASSOBOM est une initiative de Dieu qui prendra corps avec les membres ayant la foi que ASSOBOM s'améliorera et se développera ; qu' (that ASSOBOM is an initiative of God who takes the body with members having faith and that ASSOBOM will improve and grow);
* ASSOBOM n'est pas un lieu d'expression des assoiffés d'argent mais de ceux qui veulent venir en aide aux orphelins ; (ASSOBOM is not a place of expression of the thirst for money but for those who want to help the orphans);
* en conséquence, des projets en rapport avec cet objectif sont les bienvenus ainsi que les plans pour les réaliser ; (therefore, projects related to this goal are welcome as well as plans to achieve them);
* l'envoi des invitations aux membres au moins une semaine d'avance est recommandé. (sending invitations to members at least one week in advance is recommended).
* le compte ASSOBOM existe : il mérite d'être enrichi et contrôlé au lieu de passer son temps à scruter l'origine des biens du Président Fondateur.(ASSOBOM's Bank account exists: it deserves to be enriched and controlled instead of spending their time scrutinizing the origin of goods of the Founding President).

Updates from April 10, 2011 general assembly of ASSOBOM
ASSOBOM held last april 10,2011 its general assembly.
On the agenda : prayers,introduction of members, updating members about our activities, registration of new members and re-registration of former members,discussing our program on behalf of orphanages,fundraising issues, payment of fees, family photos and refreshment.
Many members came and we could raise about us$ 100. People made commitments to support.Members were encouraged to advertise the cause around and bring in members to support the cause.
At the end of the assembly, we had refreshments and family photos.
We do face many problems: getting people to support the cause and attend regularly meetings, we need partners to support our program on behalf of orphanages etc.
We need your prayers and support

Report from Gregory brady's visit to Cameroon
Reports from Gregory Brady’s missionary visit to Cameroon
Dear friends visitors and members of ASSOBOM,
While hoping you are well as well as your families, I wanted to update you on Gregory Brady’s missionary trip to Cameroon (Canadian).
Gregory Brady was welcomed and received by ASSOBOM in Douala on November 13th 2010. A day later we drove him to the airport where he had to meet with GVI for his scientific trip.
On Saturday 11th December, he came to yaounde from Buea accompanied by a young black man.We collected them from MUSSANGO voyage to our compound where they had some food and refreshment before heading for Hotel Safari where I booked a room for two nights (he paid me back for that charge us$ 70). The next day, we went to church where he was welcomed and had to share with the church for about 20 minutes. We had communion that Sunday. After we had a meeting with the church leaders who asked him about his mission and his expectations from the church. Brady said he was only there on behalf of Mercy League International.Then we had a cocktail at the pastor’s house.Later on a general assembly with ASSOBOM and members. He could see and met with the board members and the rest of members. He gave us many suggestions. He suggested us to narrow our goals and set a plan (we did it a submitted a plan to him the next day which he appreciated an kept). He suggested us to gather the support from other churches because the actual Pentecostal affiliated with ASSOBOM now is a small church with its own burdens too.We also discussed about the commitment of members.He could visit my residence as well as my daughter and fiancée. He gave her us $ 50 and another us $50 to jacky (she helped cook for food and led prayers during his sojourn with us).
Brady left yaounde on Monday 13th December 2010 by bus (BUCCAVOYAGE) around 2pm after visiting a nearby orphanage for Douala where he had to meet with his son before heading to South Africa.
My impression about Gregory Brady is that, he is a very down to earth person. He is hardworking with experience on charity work.His French is understandable and he is committed to help in Haiti (School etc). Brady is a faithful Christian and could testify of the works of God in his life.

Missionary coming to Cameroon...
Dear members and visitors,
I would like to thank you for all you've been doing so far for ASSOBOM to make a difference in the developing world.
As you might know , we started this cause in cameroon (Sub-Saharan Africa) about 2 years ago with the leadership of the Director of Mercy League International (faith-based humanitarian organisation located in the USA) and Jamie Wurm (canada).
After 2 years of exixtence, here are some of our achievements.
- Constitution of a board of 11 members
- the registration of ASSOBOM with the government of Cameroon
- affiliation to a local based christian church
- holding of monthly board meeting and general assemblies
- registration of new members
- donation of school furniture and clothing to about 109 orphans last August 2010 in an orphanage ''SOS Villages d'Enfants Cameroun).
This has earn us a missionary's visit from Mercy League International. So next November 13th we'll welcome Mr. Gregory Brady at the Douala International airport. ASSOBOM will have a 4 working days session with him from 11 December to 14 December.
We would like you to join us in prayers so that everything happens as planned so that ASSOBOM can impact more lives in sub-Saharan Africa on behalf of orphans, widows, handicapped and grassroots people.

ASSOBOM with Michel and team to impact patients spiritually, materially and physically in Sub-Saharan Africa (Cameroon)
Dear members and visitors,
Michel has been badly burned during a fire accident about 12 years ago. Today, he uses his handicap to share the wonders of God did in sparing his life and to preach the word of God to patients in hospitals.
ASSOBOM has agreed to support Michel and team by providing them with all they need to carry on their mission.
The task of Michel and team isn't easy. They do face many difficulties. Some patients they preach to could be more accessible to the word of God if they were provided medical care. In addition, those patients also need in addition to the spiritual support, to be impacted materially, financially and physically.
Please join us (ASSOBOM) to impact people's lives in Africa.If you would like to do anything to back our effort, feel free to let us know.
Together we can make a difference with ASSOBOM in the developing world.

Donations by ASSOBOM of school furnitures and clothing to an orphanage.
Dear members,
last Saturday August 21,we travelled to Mbalmayo (about 30 km out of the capital Yaoundé)to donate school furnitures and clothing to an orphanDge centre known as " SOS Village d'Enfants Cameroun". This centre has about 109 orphans aged 9 months- 17 years and coming all over Cameroon.ASSOBOM's team that was led by it's Founder president was warmly welcome by the Director of the Centre M. Mekolo Alphonse and a crowd of orphans who were already waiting for us.
We do hope that many students will be able to go to school as from September 2010 and have the opportunity to attend an education for a better future.
If you want to join us in that effort as we carry on our programs on behalf of the have not and hopeless, please let us know what you would like to do.
